Buyers who fit this qualification are usually listed in either the Blue Book or Red Book for credit reporting. We will refer to these books to determine if a buyer who registers on Produce-Exchange.com should be able to access this network as a wholesale dealer or buyer. However, we will not use these references exclusively as the determining factor.

A buyer can classified as a grocery store, jobber, wholesale produce house, or anyone who deals in large produce quantities. This site is not for buyers who are just looking to buy a few boxes of an item. However, a full 18-wheeler load is not required to use this site either since many buyers mix their loads with other commodities. We suggest that a buyer who is looking at buying at least one forth of an 18-wheeler shipment is qualified to be a buyer on this network. However, buyers who buy always buy less than full load shipments may be subject to review.

Produce-Exchange.com serves to reduce the time that buyers take to find produce and ornamental shipments. This network will save you dozens of phone calls each day by allowing you to negotiate and buy your shipments online. We encourage you to use this network as your first resource to find produce shipments and to encourage your suppliers to post their loads on this network.

The Cost to all buyers is absolutely FREE to use Produce-Exchange.com. However, there is one exception. If a buyer agrees to purchase produce from a seller and fails to fulfill its obligation in the transaction, then the buyer may be required to pay the buyer’s listing fees incurred on Produce-Exchange.com for the transaction. These fees are nominal, just $1 per $1,000 or .001 of the entire produce transaction. This does not apply to shipments that arrive and fail to meet the grade or the seller does not meet the terms of the shipment. Other than our one exception, the cost to buyers using Produce-Exchange.com is FREE.
